New! Family-Friendly Registration Process
Attention! Important changes to the registration process for Fall 2017. This new registration process will allow you to choose the practice day and time that is most convenient for your family. The practice day and time that you choose at registration will determine your team. Early registration is strongly encouraged as each team has a set number of participants and once a practice day and time has reached its player capacity that team will be full.
No waiting lists will be formed once a team is full. We strongly encourage parents to check the website or call the branch to find out if an opening on a team has occurred.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When will I hear from the Y or my coach about what team my child is on?
A: You will know your practice day and time at registration. Communication from the Y will begin August 21. You should hear from your coach and be set-up in Playerspace no later than August 31.
Q: What is the age cut off?
A: September 4 is the official age cut off. Your son or daughter’s age on that day dictates the default division in which he/she will fall. Parents can always move their kids up a division, but are not allowed to play their kids down. If parents choose for their child to play up a division, you will need to register your child in-house or call and register over the phone.
Q: What does my child need this season and what will he/she be receiving?
A: Every player will be provided with their team uniform, which is a single colored dri-fit jersey. All players will receive a participation medal at the end of the season (except for Basketball Academy). Kiddie Kickers participants will also receive a mini-size YMCA soccer ball to use during the season and to keep afterwards. We recommend the following equipment for each sport:
Soccer: shin guards, socks that cover shin guards, cleats, water bottle
Flag Football: mouth guard, cleats, water bottle
Volleyball: knee pads, water bottle
T-Ball/Baseball: fitted baseball glove, cleats, water bottle
Lacrosse: stick, gloves, helmet, mouth guard, water bottle
Basketball Academy: water bottle
This is an online sports platform that is utilized for simplifying communication among coaches, players and YMCA sports staff. PlayerSpace is where you will find your roster, practice and game schedules, as well as contact information for those on your team. If you do not have a PlayerSpace account, you will receive an email asking you to set one up once the teams have been assigned. If you have an existing account, please log in after the date that teams have been assigned. PlayerSpace will be used for basketball, soccer, flag football, t-ball/baseball and volleyball.
Be a Coach!
As is the case with all recreational leagues, the Y program is built on dedicated volunteer coaches. If you are a great role model, have a fun-loving attitude, enjoy working with kids, and have good communication skills, you are qualified to become a head coach! The Y provides coach training and practice plans, along with help from staff members when needed. Coaching couldn’t get any easier! If you are interested, contact the Y staff listed below and tell them you want to make an impact this season! Coaches, please make sure to register your child as soon as possible to ensure they have a spot on the team, as we cannot hold spots on any team.

Adult Fall Volleyball League
This is a co-ed sport and the score is kept. There are no practices, only games. Games are held each Monday starting as early as 6:00pm. Each team is responsible for referring others’ games. Teams will play two matches and ref a match each night with game times varying each week. Season will end with a tournament on October 30.
This is a bring-your-own-team sport. If you are not currently affiliated with a Y team and would like to be placed onto a team, please come to a Monday evening open gym. Open gym runs August 14, 21, and 28 on Court 4 starting at 7:00pm.
Please connect with Scot Freeman at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to attending an open gym and he can assist you in finding a team. Open gym is open for YMCA members, players registered on a team or those individuals seriously interested in joining a team. All others must abide by our guest policy.
Each team will nominate their captain who is charged with collecting playing fees, managing the roster and recording how many games each player has participated in. Players much play in at least four games to participate in the tournament. Please click here for additional league rules.
