The Kernersville Family YMCA outdoor pools will open up on Saturday, May 24, 2025!
2025 OUTDOOR POOLS HOURS
Coming Soon!
Outdoor Pool Guest Policies
We welcome guests of members at our outdoor pools. YMCA guest fees and general policies can be found HERE.
- We highly encourage guest passes to be purchased online (click here) or purchased at our main Membership Desk at the Kernersville Family YMCA during normal operating hours.
- All guests, 18 years and older, must present a valid ID at the pool, and sign our liability waivers and Code of Conduct.
- All guest fees & pre-paid guest passes are non-refundable.
- Rainchecks will not be issued for guest passes.
Swim Band Policy
We use swim bands to easily identify swimmers of different skill levels. If children in grades 8 and younger want to use designated areas of the pool and ride the slides, they need to earn a Green swim band. Specific swim assessment proficiencies can be found HERE.
Inclement Weather Procedures
All YMCA indoor and outdoor pools will close during inclement weather and remain closed for 30 minutes after the last occurrence of thunder or lightning. All members and guests must leave the pool deck. Outdoor pool members and guests must leave the pool deck and wait in vehicles when an outdoor pool is closed for thunder or lightning.
For updated communication on our outdoor pools, please follow us on our Kernersville Family YMCA Facebook and Instagram pages. We encourage you to check those pages if you are concerned about the weather prior to coming out.
Safety Guidelines
Please observe all rules posted at YMCA pools. The top seven rules to know before you come are:
- We will have pool breaks the last 10 minutes of every hour - no swimmers allowed in the pools during this time.
- Leave all glass, alcohol, tobacco/nicotine products, and pets at home.
- Inflatable items, such as water wings, inner tubes and rafts, are prohibited. NO outside sports equipment allowed in the pool area.
- Children who have not completed Middle School Orientation and Red Band swimmers must be supervised by an adult age 18 and older at all times.
- Active supervision means being within arm's length of a Red Band swimmer in the water (i.e. a child in elementary or middle school who has not passed the YMCA swim assessment) at all times.
- The Y reserves the right to deny access to anyone at any time for reasonable causes. The lifeguard is in charge of all pool activities.
- Large gatherings and celebrations such as birthday parties are not permitted at the outdoor pools.
