Life doesn’t always run 9-to-5. Whether you are an early bird, a night owl, or a shift worker, our new 24/7 Access add-on gives you the freedom to train when it fits your life - 24/7/365.
Available locations: Alexander County, Davie and Stokes Family YMCAs.
How to Get Started
1. Check Eligibility
To qualify for 24/7 Access, you must:
• Be an active YMCA of NWNC member.
• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Have a membership in good standing and an updated picture on file. (No past due balances. Nationwide members and guests are not eligible for 24/7 Access.)
2. Sign Up
• New Members: You can select the 24/7 Access add-on when you join online.
• Current Members: Please visit the Welcome Desk at your local branch to add this service to your account or click here.
3. Wait for Activation
Once you sign up, our team reviews your account. Please wait for a confirmation email stating your 24/7 Access is active (this may take up to 3 business days).
How Much?
It's only $7 a month to upgrade your YMCA membership to 24/7 Access (per person).
Safety First
During 24/7 Access hours, there are no staff members on duty.
Your Safety Checklist:
• 📱 Bring your cell phone. Keep it with you at all times.
• 🚨 Use Medical Pendants. Wearable emergency pendants are available for you to use while working out.
• 🅿️ Park Smart. Park in well-lit areas.
• 🚫 No Guests. Strictly no guests or children (under 18) are allowed. Do not open the door for anyone else, even if you know them.
In case of emergency, always call 911.
Code of Conduct
To keep our community safe and accessible, we strictly enforce a Zero Tolerance Policy.
Strictly Prohibited Activities:
• "Tailgating": Allowing another person to enter behind you on your scan.
• Sharing Access: Giving your barcode/app to someone else.
• Accessing Restricted Areas: Entering closed zones beyond the Wellness floor.
Violations of these rules will result in the immediate loss of 24/7 Access and potential termination of YMCA membership.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is 24/7 Access immediately available once I sign up for it?
No. Once you sign up, it can take up to 3 business days for your account to be updated. Your account will be active once you receive an email confirmation that your 24/7 Access has been activated
Can anyone under the age of 18 get 24/7 Access?
No. Minors under age 18 may not use 24/7 Access under any circumstances (member or employee).
What do I do if my barcode doesn’t work to open the door?
Please either email bot@ymcanwnc.org or come back into the branch during standard operating hours to solve the issue.
Is 24/7 Access open 365 days a year?
Yes. 24/7 Access is available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
Can I use 24/7 Access at more than one branch?
Any YMCA of NWNC member who has a paid 24/7 Access membership add-on may visit any other participating 24/7 Access location within the YMCA of NWNC association.
Are lockers available during 24/7 Access?
No. The wellness floor and a restroom are available for use during 24/7 Access. No locker rooms are available.
How much does 24/7 Access cost?
$7 per member per month. For a unit with one adult, this would be $7. For a unit with multiple adults, it’s $7 per individual member with 24/7 Access.
If I cancel 24/7 Access, does it also cancel my membership?
No. This is a membership add-on. Canceling 24/7 Access does not cancel YMCA membership.
