Taylorsville, N.C. — The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is proud to now offer 24/7 access to the fitness center at the Alexander County Family YMCA, providing members with greater flexibility to support healthy lifestyles on their own schedules.

This expanded access allows Alexander County Family YMCA members to work out early in the morning, late at night, or anytime in between, outside of normal staffed hours. Members will enter the facility by swiping their YMCA membership card at the front entrance.

“Our goal is to remove barriers to healthy living,” said Adam McIver, Senior Vice President of Growth. “By offering 24/7 access, we’re meeting our community where they are and giving our members more opportunities to prioritize their health in a way that works for them.”

To ensure a safe and secure environment during unstaffed hours, several guidelines will be in place. No guests will be permitted, and members must be 18 years or older to use the facility outside of standard operating hours. Access will be limited to the fitness center and bathrooms only, and all members are expected to follow YMCA policies and code of conduct at all times.

The YMCA’s 24/7 access program is supported by enhanced technology and security measures, reinforcing the organization’s ongoing commitment to member safety and well-being. This access is currently only available to members whose home branch is the Alexander County Family YMCA.

The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina plans to continue expanding 24/7 access across the association, with similar access coming soon to the Davie Family YMCA and the Stokes Family YMCA. Additional details and timelines will be shared as those locations prepare for launch.

Members with questions about 24/7 access, eligibility, or facility guidelines are encouraged to contact the YMCA at BOT@ymcanwnc.org or stop by the branch.
