YMCA of Northwest North Carolina Welcomes Alleghany Wellness Center as 14th Location
The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is expanding its reach with the addition of the Alleghany Wellness Center to the association. Effective October 1, the facility is now the Alleghany Family YMCA, making it the 14th YMCA of Northwest North Carolina location and expanding the association’s presence to eight counties across Northwest North Carolina.
The addition of the Alleghany Family YMCA strengthens the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina’s commitment to ensuring individuals and families have access to opportunities that promote healthy living, youth development and social responsibility.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Alleghany Wellness Center into the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina and to officially become the Alleghany Family YMCA,” said Donna Rodgers, President and CEO of the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina. “This is an exciting opportunity to build on the strong foundation already established in Alleghany County while bringing the resources, programs and community-focused mission of the YMCA to help even more individuals reach their God-given potential in spirit, mind and body.”
As part of the transition, Alleghany Family YMCA members will have access to expanded benefits as part of their YMCA membership. Group exercise classes will now be included at no additional cost, giving members more opportunities to stay active, connect with others and pursue their health and wellness goals.
The Alleghany Family YMCA will also enhance aquatics safety at its pool, further strengthening the YMCA’s commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for individuals and families in the community.
The addition of the Alleghany Family YMCA also provides YMCA members with greater flexibility across the association. A membership at any YMCA of Northwest North Carolina location provides access to all 14 YMCA of Northwest North Carolina locations, allowing members to utilize facilities and take advantage of available amenities and offerings throughout the association. Programs, classes, amenities and operating hours do vary by location.
YMCA of Northwest North Carolina members can also take advantage of nationwide YMCA membership reciprocity at YMCA locations across the country, providing access to even more YMCA facilities when traveling.
“Whether our members are at home, traveling to another community within our association or visiting family across the country, we want their YMCA membership to provide flexibility, value and opportunity,” Rodgers said. “With the addition of the Alleghany Family YMCA, we are able to serve more people while giving our members even more ways to connect.”
The Alleghany Family YMCA will continue to provide opportunities for community members to connect through health and wellness, group exercise, aquatics and other programs and services. Additional information about membership, programs and services will be available online throughout the transition.
