WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina and Fleet Feet Winston-Salem have announced marathon champion John Korir will be pacing the 1:30 group at the 2025 Mistletoe Half Marathon.

John Korir with Boston Marathon trophy

Korir, a Kenyan runner, is the reigning Boston Marathon Champion and won the 2024 Chicago Marathon. His brother won Boston in 2012, making the pair the only set of brothers ever to win the iconic race. Korir’s fastest marathon came in Chicago in 2024 when he completed the 26.2 miles in two hours and two minutes. His fastest half marathon also came in 2024, when he ran 13.1 miles in the UAE in 58 minutes and 50 seconds.

The Mistletoe Run, presented by Bell Davis and Pitt, is proud to be the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina's largest fundraiser, with proceeds benefitting the children in our community by providing financial assistance and funding for youth programming like swim lessons, summer camp, before and after school care and more.

While the course is a USATF sanctioned course, Mistletoe is also an event for the entire family. Whether you are completing your first 5K or an experienced racer, you can kick off your holiday season with the Mistletoe Run at the William G. White, Jr. Family YMCA in downtown Winston-Salem.
