The Kernersville Family YMCA Capital Campaign will support an expansion project to add a new outdoor airnasium, restrooms, storage space, and new t-ball fields. This new space will address the growing demand for a covered, multipurpose outdoor recreational area in the Kernersville community. It will also enable the YMCA to enhance its Sports programs, After School Care, Summer Day Camps, and Wellness and Fitness offerings for both adults and youth at the Kernersville Family YMCA. Additionally, the expansion will include the creation of more Pickleball courts for the community.
OUR PLAN
The Kernersville Family YMCA is excited to add an 8,000-square-foot airnasium to meet the growing demand for services at our location and expand our reach to serve more youth, families, and adults in the community. This new space will feature the following amenities:
- Two half outdoor covered Basketball courts and one full-size Basketball court
- Four outdoor covered Pickleball courts
- Two outdoor Volleyball courts
- New Futsal courts
- A new covered space for our After School, Summer Day Camps, and Sports programs
- State-of-the-art facilities for outdoor Group Exercise classes and Boot Camps
- This space will help us serve individuals with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities
- The addition of the airnasium will be utilized to help us make a bigger impact in our community with our Annual Impact Fund programs including but not limited to: LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA, YMCA Bright Beginnings, Reaching Our Potential participants, and Senior Programs.
- New outdoor restrooms, storage space for all our programs and equipment, and new t-ball fields
This addition will provide more opportunities for the community to engage in healthy activities and create more space for connection and growth.
