How do I know if I’m eligible?
You can verify eligibility through your health insurance provider by calling the 1-800 number on the back of your health insurance card. If you are eligible, your provider will give a Fitness ID number 8 + digits. To enroll, you will bring this ID number and your photo ID to the YMCA. If you are unable to obtain the Fitness ID, you can bring your insurance card to the YMCA for verification of eligibility. Which YMCAs are covered with Silver and Fit?
Silver and Fit is offered at all of the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina branches.
How do I enroll?
To enroll, you will first verify eligibility through your health insurance provider by calling the 1-800 number on the back of your health insurance card. If you are eligible, your provider will give a Fitness ID number 8 + digits. You will bring your ID number and your photo ID to YMCA of Northwest North Carolina to get your membership started. If you are unable to obtain your Fitness ID, bring your insurance card to the YMCA and staff will assist you with obtaining the ID.
Do I pay anything to begin my membership?
Some Health Plans require you to pay an annual fee to Silver and Fit. Please login to your Silver and Fit account and pay that fee before activating your membership at the Y.
At the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina, the cost of your Silver & Fit membership is included in your insurance premiums. If at any time your eligibility ends with Silver & Fit, the YMCA will never switch your membership to a dues-paying membership without your consent.
Do I have to visit YMCA of Northwest North Carolina a specific number of times for my membership cost to be covered?
You are not required to visit YMCA of Northwest North Carolina a specific amount of times for your monthly membership cost to be covered. However, we’d love to see you at the YMCA as often as possible! If your membership goes unused for 6 months, your membership may be subject to termination. However, you can re-enroll in YMCA with continued proof of eligibility.
Is a card on file required?
A credit or debit card is NOT required to be on file for the Silver & Fit membership. However, having a card on file does make registering for programs and activities easier.
Can I bring a guest with me with my membership?
Limit of one complimentary member guest per membership unit, per day. Additional guests accompanying a member may visit by paying the Guest Rate. Complimentary guests may receive one free visit per calendar year. After their free visit, they may join the Y, or pay the guest rate for future visits.
Where can I sign up?
Please visit the nearest YMCA of Northwest North Carolina facility to join. Additionally, our team will assist you in getting you set up in our uFit program to maximize your YMCA of Northwest North Carolina membership. Online joining is not available for Insurance-Based Memberships.
What do I need to bring with me to enroll?
To enroll, you will just need your photo ID, Health Insurance Card and your Fitness ID. If you have not obtained your Fitness ID, the YMCA membership staff can assist you with obtaining that ID number.
What is included with my YMCA Silver & Fit membership?
Group Exercise, water aerobics, complimentary coffee, YMCA curated social events and activities, nutritional and wellness workshops and more!
What hours will I have access to YMCA of Northwest North Carolina?
