Annual Impact Fund Highlights Over the Last Eight Months
Your support of the Kernersville Family YMCA's Annual Impact Fund ensures the sustainability of life-changing programs and opportunities for all in our community.

Before and After School Academy
We served 279 participants in our Before and After School programs and distributed $67,000 in financial scholarships.

Bright Beginnings
We provided new school supplies and clothing to 161 students in the Kernersville community - the largest number in a single event since the program began in 1999. 141 volunteers brought energy, encouragement, and care to make the day unforgettable and 165 backpacks distributed, filled with an estimated 22,256 school supply items. Over $29,000 was invested in this year’s event to make it all possible.

Membership and Financial Scholarships
We awarded $97,820 in financial scholarships and currently have 9,951 members at the Kernersville Family YMCA.

YMCA Camp Hanes
We served 2,068 youth in our Overnight Camp and Day Camp programs this past summer at YMCA Camp Hanes! We provided $256,370 in financial assistance. We also supported 17 teens from the Kernersville community and $7,413 in financial dollars.

Summer Day Camp
We served approximately 1,115 kids in our Summer Day Camp (K-5 and Teens) and distributed $17,650 in financial assistance.

Evidence-Based Health Intervention Programs
In 2025 so far, we have served 202 participants in our Evidence-based Health Intervention programs across the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina. The Annual Impact Fund provided $37,500 for programs like LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA (a free 12-week program for cancer survivors and their families). In 2025 so far, we provided support to 10 adult cancer survivors from the Kernersville community.

Reaching Our Potential
We served 53 teens from the Kernersville community in our Teen Referral Membership program. Over 740 teens across our Association are enrolled in this program for at-risk teens.

Swim Lessons
We served 1,115 kids in our swim lessons program and provided $488 in financial assistance.

Safety Around Water (SAW)
We served 202 participants in our Safety Around Water drowning prevention - a program that provides swim instruction and water safety to children from under-served communities at no cost, with a total program cost and financial dollars of $25,250.

Youth Sports
We served 729 youth and adults in our sports programs and awarded $579 in financial assistance.
