OUR VISION

The Forsyth County community needs the YMCA more than ever. To continue to best serve our members and positively impact the health and wellness of our community, we are hoping to expand our facility.

Facade Renovations: Our building’s exterior is the first impression we make. Upgrading our facade will not only beautify our facility but also create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects our commitment to the community.
Airnasium Addition: To better serve our growing membership, we plan to add an innovative Airnasium. This new space will provide a versatile environment for YMCA programs, fitness classes, and community events, allowing us to engage more members and foster connections.
Parking Lot Expansion: We understand that convenience is key to a positive experience. By expanding our parking lot, we aim to alleviate congestion and make it easier for our members to access our facilities, enhancing their overall experience.

FACADE RENOVATIONS

Our current facade, while it has served us well, is becoming outdated and no longer represents the innovative work we do or the welcoming atmosphere we strive to create. An updated facade will not only improve the aesthetic appeal of our building but also enhance functionality, safety, and energy efficiency. Investing in this project is about more than just looks; it’s about making a lasting impact. A refreshed exterior will attract more visitors, inspire engagement, and foster a sense of pride within our community.

AIRNASIUM ADDITION

The addition of the C. Jennings Family Airnasium will provide additional square footage that we need to meet the increasing demand for services at our location.
The addition of the airnasium will be utilized for the following programs:

  • Let’s Get Fit exercise classes: A fitness initiative tailored for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Through this program, participants enhance their fitness, make new friends, and benefit from the physical and mental well-being within our inclusive YMCA community.
  • LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA which serves cancer survivors in our community, free of charge.
  • PWR! Moves Parkinson’s Program: A program designed specifically for those living with Parkinson’s, introducing specific movements to increase mobility, strength, reaction time, and endurance.
  • Pickleball: Pickleball has seen a surge in popularity, appealing to players of all ages due to its accessible rules, fast-paced play, and social, community-building nature.
  • Group exercise classes, Boot Camps, and Personal Training
  • Youth and teen after school activities, including our Reaching our Potential participants. ROP is a free teen membership designed to help teens overcome isolation with the ability to participate in group exercise classes, basketball courts, swimming pools, and so much more.

PARKING LOT EXPANSION

The Robinhood Road Family YMCA purchased land adjacent to the YMCA to alleviate parking challenges stemming from high utilization. This acquisition will significantly enhance our parking capabilities, traffic patterns, and overall accessibility to the facility by creating 140+ new parking spaces.
