Welcome to YMCA Camp Hanes!

At YMCA Camp Hanes, we love our summer campers, conference attendees, Outdoor Education students, chaperones, and teachers. Or simply put, everyone who visits camp!

We are committed to ensuring every experience is helping campers be their best selves! We do this through developing achievement, belonging and building relationships. We use our mission and our values - honesty, caring, respect, responsibility, and faith - to help guide us.

In June of 1927, Harry Long brought a small group of young boys from Winston-Salem to the all new John W. Hanes Memorial YMCA camp to experience the great outdoors. Nearly a century later, more than 15,000 participants annually come to YMCA Camp Hanes to experience the great outdoors, make lifelong friends, and create lasting memories at the "400 Acre Memory Maker" YMCA Camp Hanes.

We always want to hear from our campers, parents, teachers, conference attendees, donors, and board members. We believe that our partnerships help us to improve each year, allowing us to provide great services to our guests. Our board and staff have a bold vision for YMCA Camp Hanes, and we always welcome your input.

I would also like to invite you to partner with us and give a gift through our Annual Impact Fund and help Send a Kid to Camp to help families provide positive, lifelong memories for their child at YMCA Camp Hanes. I want you to know that every participant receives our very best, as we strive to make a positive impact in thousands of lives every year. Thank you for your support and working with the YMCA to help "all people reach their God-given potential in spirit, mind and body".

People reach out to us and let us know how you feel about your YMCA Camp Hanes experience and what we can do together to make camp the best it can be! You can reach me at jen.deridder@ymcanwnc.org and by phone at 336 983 3131.

Yours in camping,
