During the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina’s temporary closure, we’re working to make sure you have wellness and fitness options available to you and your family at home. Just because we aren’t in the same room together doesn’t mean we can’t be here for each other, together.


Reserve Your Spot in Outdoor Group Exercise Class or Swim Lanes

For the health and safety of our members and staff — and the community at large by extension — we are asking all members to reserve their class spots or swim lanes online or through the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina’s mobile app.

Scroll down to our dynamic online schedules to sign up 24 hours in advance to save your space in class! If you do not have our mobile app, you can download it for iPhone here, or for Android devices here. If you do not have access to a computer, call 336-777-8055, option 8 to get registered. Note that this number is staffed Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Classes open up 24 hours ahead of time. For more detailed instruction on how to reserve your spot, please click here.

Reciprocal memberships and guests now have access to our branches. Guests must be with a YMCA of Northwest North Carolina member, pay applicable fees and sign a waiver.

Effective June 23, the red band swim policy has been updated:

  • We will maintain our 1 adult to 2 red band swimmers/nonswimmers without life jackets.
  • We will allow a 1 adult to 4 red band swimmers/nonswimmers as long as all children are in life jackets.
  • We will now be able to provide life jackets (upon parent request) to those red band/nonswimmers that need one. These will be properly sanitized between guests.

Pool/Water Fitness

Starting June 29, the TYDE swim team will practice in lap pool lanes 4, 5 and 6 from 2:00-4:15pm.

Starting July 6, Mondays-Saturdays in lap pool lanes 1-6, there will be 2 reservations per lane until 11:00am.

In order to better serve our members starting August 3 we will offer Water Fitness classes M-F 8:00-8:45am and M&W 7:15-8:00pm. There will be 12 participants per class (limited lane reservations during these programs). We will open at 6:00am M-F to add additional lap swim reservations.
