YMCA Training Volunteer Reading Tutors
Could you spend 3 hours each week helping an ADULT improve reading skills?
Training Sessions – Coming Soon
We will provide you with 10 hours of training, materials, and on-going support you as you meet twice each week with a learner. We assess all learners and match you with someone whose schedule and logistical preferences match yours. After you are matched you can meet at a YMCA, public library, or any other public location.
Our learners vary from 2nd grade – 9th grade reading levels. Many are working on specific goals like filling out job applications, working for a promotion at work, or learning to help children or grandchildren with homework. Most of our learners are in their 40s and 50s.
