Improving to Serve You Better: New Wellness Equipment

Thanks to your feedback and suggestions, in December we are updating wellness equipment at the Alexander County Family YMCA. It’s always our goal to provide you with the latest in state-of-the-art options for wellness. Enhance Fitness

Modified Moves, Maximum Results

EnhanceFitness is geared toward older adults of all fitness levels. If you have a chronic condition, such as arthritis, you may be able to gain more strength and independence. You will feel energized—physically, mentally and socially—and be surrounded by people who care about your success.

Research has shown that among older adults who participate in EnhanceFitness, health costs were lowered by close to $1,000 and 9 out of 10 people stay with the program. In addition, 99 percent say they would recommend the program to a friend. Click here for more information!

What is uFit?

uFit is a program that provides you with an easy-to-follow plan and cutting edge fitness tools. You will not be alone in this process. Our highly trained staff will help you set attainable goals and will provide the ongoing support necessary for your success.

In three short meetings, we can take you from an exercise skeptic to a confident individual who is excited about working out. In just a few sessions, you will gain the tools and resources that will help you succeed.

You will finally learn what really works in terms of exercise, weight loss, and having more energy – not to mention just becoming healthier. This program is valued at $150, but offered at no cost to all new members. You are encouraged to sign up within the first week of your membership.

Personal Training

We know that sometimes it’s hard to take the first steps in becoming healthier. That’s why we’re here for you, every day: to give you the extra motivation and guidance that you need. Our personal trainers can help you with weight loss, body toning, sport specific training, injury prevention and post rehabilitation, plus helping develop and reaching your goals for a healthier you! We offer individual and group personal training sessions.

Group Exercise Classes

Classes are open to all exercise levels, with alternative movements offered for different skill levels to maximize your personal workout. Our instructors are happy to give additional guidance to beginners. Just introduce yourself before class! Minimum age is 12 years (with a parent).
