Ways to Give

The YMCA has a mission of helping people reach their God-given potential in spirit, mind and body. We also strive to turn no one away due to an inability to pay a program or membership fee. Our goal is to serve as many people in the community as possible that can benefit from our services. We can’t do that without your help. What is the Annual Giving Campaign?

With your support, the annual YMCA Annual Giving Campaign provides scholarship funds for deserving youth, families and seniors. By supporting the Annual Giving Campaign, you ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances or ability to pay, can benefit from YMCA programs and services.

The Annual Giving Campaign funds such important programs as child care, day and overnight camp, membership, teen leadership programs, adult literacy, swim lessons and senior programs. Learn more about where your donation goes.

In 2010, over 20,000 individuals participated at the YMCA through the Open Doors Scholarship Program, valued at over $2 million. The YMCA strives to turn no one away due to inability to pay. Each gift makes a difference in helping people reach their God-given potential in spirit, mind and body.

Financial assistance keeps the Y available for kids and families who need us most. We count on the generosity of our members and communities to help people of all ages and from all walks of life be more healthy, confident, connected and secure. When you give to the Y, your gift will have a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own neighborhood.

Where Your Donation Goes

Generous contributions transform the lives of children, adults and families in our community. Here are some examples of how a gift can have an immediate, life-changing impact.

$50 Will give a child the opportunity to learn water safety and swimming.

$130 Sends a child to a week of summer day camp filled with swimming, crafts, games and other values-based activities.

$330 Allows five children the opportunity to participate in a season of youth sports.

$679 Sends a child to YMCA Camp Hanes for one week of outdoor exploration and character-building activities.

$1,200 Provides literacy materials and computer training for four adults with learning disabilities.

$1,500 Provides two seniors with one year’s membership, including activities for improved health and new friendships.

$2,500 Provides values-driven YMCA Before and After School Care for a child, allowing his or her parent(s) to work or attend school, knowing their child is in a safe, nurturing environment.

$6,400 Allows the YMCA to send an additional 10 children to Camp High Hopes for one month of intensive language tutoring in order to raise their skill level to that of their classmates.

With your help, the YMCA can continue to turn no one away due to an inability to pay. When a YMCA volunteer contacts you, please say yes. It truly can make a difference in so many lives.
