Swim Lessons
We have evening swim lessons for all ages with lesson plans ranging from basic skills to more defined stroke work. Our goal is to have you and/or your child succeed.

How to Register
You may register at the Front Desk during all operating hours. A parent or guardian must complete and sign a registration form for each session that a child is registered for. Registration opens 2 weeks before the lessons begin.

Water Fitness
We offer Water Aerobics and Recovery classes on a monthly basis. These classes are all free to members. Members may sign up at anytime by coming by the membership office or the front desk.

SilverSplash®
Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! SilverSplash® offers lots of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required and a special SilverSneakers® kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination.
Classes are Tuesday & Thursday morning at 9am!
Private Swim Lessons
Ages: all
Looking for personal instruction and/or a flexible swim lesson schedule? Private lessons will help! Swimmers learn the basics of swimming in a one-on-one setting. Lessons are tailored to the skills your child needs to improve his/her swimming. Each class is 30 minutes.

Pricing: 30 minute sessions-$20 members and $30 potential members
Adult Swim Lessons
Ages: 18 and up
It’s never too late to learn to swim. All classes are based on 3 basic levels from absolute beginner all the way to stroke refinement and improvement. Class ratios are kept low to maximize your experience.
Session: Tues/Thurs, 6:30 – 7:45pm
Teen Swim Lessons
Ages: 13-17
It’s never too late to learn to swim. All classes are based on 3 basic levels from absolute beginner all the way to stroke refinement and improvement. Class ratios are kept low to maximize your experience.

Youth Swim Lessons
Ages: 6-15 years
This class consists of four levels, which focus on stroke development, water safety, personal growth, and fun. A trained swim instructor works with children at their own pace using the YMCA core values, building self-esteem as well as self confidence through swimming. Youth swim levels are Polliwog, Guppy, Minnow, Fish and Flying Fish. Classes are 45 minutes.
Cost: $35 for members and $70 for potential members

Preschool Swim Lessons
Ages: 3-5 years
This class introduces children to their first experience swimming without a parent. It is a great way for kids to learn how to be independent and have fun in the pool. A trained swim instructor teaches this class using the YMCA core values. Children learn at their own pace moving through our four skill levels. Preschool swim levels are Pike, Eel, Ray, and Starfish. Classes are 30 minutes.
Cost: $35 for members and $70 for potential members

Parent/Child Swim Lessons
Ages: 6-36 months
This program provides an early water experience for children from six months to three years. Children progress from water adjustment activities through basic water skills. Program instruction is directed toward helping parents work with their children. One adult must accompany each child. Classes are 30 minutes.
Cost: $35 for members and $70 for potential members
Times: 6:00 – 6:30pm on Tuesday/Thursday evenings
Birthday Parties and Special Events
The indoor pool and Water Park are available for birthday parties and other special events during operational hours, usually on Saturday or Sunday. After hours parties are also available. For more information on this, please ask any Welcome Center or Membership Office staff.
Lap Swim and YMCA Swim Team
Most days and times there will be 2 lap lanes open.
Monday-Friday from 4pm-6pm Lanes 5 & 6 will be used by the YMCA’s TYDE Swim Team. Lane 4 will be available for Lap Swimming. Additional lanes will be opened for more than 4 swimmers.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:45pm, there may only be one lap lane available due to swim lessons.
During peak times, swimmers may be asked to share lanes and circle swim.
Family Swim
Family Swim is time designated as Open or Recreational. We encourage members to use this time to play with their children, spend time with a spouse or relax with a friend. This is your time to enjoy the water however you like.
Family Swim Schedule:
Monday – Thursday: 12:00pm – 8:45pm
Friday: 12:00pm – 7:45pm
Saturday: 8:00am – 4:45pm
Sunday: 1:00pm – 4:45pm
There is NO Open Swim during Water Aerobics Classes. Do not swim near or through water aerobics or swim lesson classes. If you are unsure of where you can swim, please ask the Lifeguard.
Lifeguard Certification Classes
During this class, participants will learn life-saving rescue skills for an Aquatic Environment. Once a participant takes the classes and passes the skills and written test, they will be certified as a YMCA Lifeguard for 2 years.
Lifeguard Course Prerequisites:
- Current CPR
- Current First Aid/AED
- Current Oxygen Administration
- Complete medical clearance (recommended)
- Minimum age 16. If under the age of 18, participant must have parental consent to take this course.
- Pass the following swimming test:
- Perform a long, shallow front dive, then swim 500 yards, including 100 yards each of: sidestroke, front crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke kick with one arm forward, and inverted breaststroke kick with arms on the stomach.
- Tread water for at least two minutes with legs only
- Surface dive headfirst and feet first in 8 to 10 feet of water and swim underwater for 15 feet
Must be able to accomplish these tasks:
- Remain alert, with no lapses in consciousness
- Sit for extended periods, including in an elevated chair
- Move to various locations, including in and around an elevated chair
- Communicate verbally, including projecting the voice across distances
- Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment
- Observe all areas of the aquatic environment
- Perform all needed rescues and survival skills
- Think in the abstract, solve problems, make decisions, instruct, evaluate, supervise, and remember
- Will possess the skills to operate alone as a lifeguard, with or without other lifeguard support.
In most of our branches they each CPR/First Aid & O2 Adm. as part of the course. They have to have these certifications in order to be certified as a YMCA Lifeguard.
