Wilkes Family YMCA

The Wilkes Family YMCA is active in the local community and offers a wide range of programs for the whole family including swim lessons, after-school care, and youth sports. The Y includes a comprehensive Wellness Center with on-duty staff, group exercise programs, and SilverSneakers® classes. Dedicated to social responsibility with efforts such as LIVESTRONG at the YMCA  and will begin Diabetes Prevention programming in 2013.

Pool breaks for all pools will happen every hour on the hour for 10 minutes. All swimmers under 18 must take a break.

Boot Camps

TRX® Boot Camp

Find out how strong you really are! Born in the Navy SEALs, Suspension Training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. Utilizing the TRX Suspension trainer, workouts use your body weight for hundreds of exercises. These total-body workouts are perfect for the beginner to the elite athlete. Each camp is coached by a TRX Certified instructor and will meet in the gym at the Wilkes Family YMCA. Led by Heather Barnes and Angela Riedel.

DAYS/TIMES

Camp will run for 8 weeks

March 23-May 13

Mondays & Wednesdays 5:00-6:00am

Will accept a maximum of 8 participants.

FEE

Members: $100/Potential Members: $125

Registration starts March 1 and will close when it reaches maximum number of participants.

 

Boot Camp

Boot Camps are great small group training sessions that utilizes all aspects of movement. Agility, cardio, strength, cross training, and more! Out of the box type workouts are programmed to help you reach your maximum fitness level and boost your goals! Led by Heather Barnes and Angela Riedel.

Get On Your Weigh

Get the support, motivation and professional instruction you need to make your healthy lifestyle choices a way of life. This 8-week weight management program that incorporates group workouts twice a week, nutritional information, and support from a personal trainer in a friendly competition, where the first place winner receives a 3-month Adult Membership. This program is designed for overweight adults who are at the novice/beginning fitness level.

The program includes

  • Two Group Workouts a week
  • Weekly Weigh-Ins and bi-weekly measurements
  • Nutrition Sessions
  • Fitness Assessments (Pre and Post-program)

Group workouts will be Mondays at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 8:30am, both at the Wilkes Express YMCA!
