Wilkes Family YMCA

The Wilkes Family YMCA is active in the local community and offers a wide range of programs for the whole family including swim lessons, after-school care, and youth sports. The Y includes a comprehensive Wellness Center with on-duty staff, group exercise programs, and SilverSneakers® classes. Dedicated to social responsibility with efforts such as LIVESTRONG at the YMCA  and will begin Diabetes Prevention programming in 2013.

Important Notice to Members: Closings

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO MEMBERS: Due to construction, we have a few announcements:

Monday, April 6: we will have no water from 2-3pm. This includes bathroom and shower usage during this time. Please plan your workout accordingly.

Tuesday, April 7: It is likely we will close the facility from 8am-5pm while power is being hooked into the new extension space. This is weather permitting and subject to change. We will be open from 5am-8am and 5pm-9pm on Tuesday.

A more formal announcement will be made to confirm our closing on Tuesday, April 7. Please make plans to use the Express YMCA. We apologize for any inconvenience as we grow!

The summer months are just around the corner. Summer is meant to be filled with learning enrichment, new experiences, and making new friendships and memories that can last a lifetime. At the Y, we focus on programs that allow children to explore and get involved in activities that help them grow both mentally and physically.

Spring Break H2O Boot Camp

Summer’s Coming! Are you ready?

If pushing yourself to the limit, improving your physical performance, and significantly improving the way you look and feel sounds like how you want to spend your time for one week in April, then don’t delay – sign up for H2O Boot Camp today! Join Danny for one hour of hard work in the pool each morning, where you’ll be challenged with everything from endurance sets to strength exercises with equipment to cardiorespiratory training that you cannot experience on dry land. Space is limited!

Playground dedication, bounce house, fire trucks and police cars with safety information, healthy snacks, YMCA program information, no joining fee during Healthy Kids Day, hard hat tours of the expansion and more!


Get On Your Weigh

Get the support, motivation and professional instruction you need to make your healthy lifestyle choices a way of life. This 8-week weight management program that incorporates group workouts twice a week, nutritional information, and support from a personal trainer in a friendly competition, where the first place winner receives a 3-month Adult Membership. This program is designed for overweight adults who are at the novice/beginning fitness level.

  • Weekly Weigh-Ins and bi-weekly measurements

Kids on The Run

Eight weeks to a 5K!

Our 6th season of Kids on the Run will kick off June 15!

Children ages 5-15 will learn the FUNdamentals of running, in a team-building atmosphere. Not only will be train for a 5K with friends, we’ll also enjoy crafts and team building exercises! No experience is necessary!

Program starts June 15 and ends with a 5K on August 7. Friends and family are encouraged to run with their child at our 5K or come cheer them on! Finisher medals and T-shirts are given on race day.
