Wilkes Family YMCA
The Wilkes Family YMCA is active in the local community and offers a wide range of programs for the whole family including swim lessons, after-school care, and youth sports. The Y includes a comprehensive Wellness Center with on-duty staff, group exercise programs, and SilverSneakers® classes. Dedicated to social responsibility with efforts such as LIVESTRONG at the YMCA and will begin Diabetes Prevention programming in 2013.

Pool breaks for all pools will happen every hour on the hour for 10 minutes. All swimmers under 18 must take a break.

Explore Our New Expansion
We have some exciting changes coming to our Y!
Over the next few weeks we will finalize our Wellness Center expansion, including a new functional training studio. The Functional Training Studio will open June 2015 and include Rogue CrossFit Equipment, TRX stations, Boot Camps, and Personal Training Space.
Additional 1,800 square feet of Wellness Area
New Cardio and Free Weight Equipment
Additional 1,000 square feet of Aerobic space
Increased group exercise class offerings

The wellness center and aerobics room at the Family Y will close at 8am on Thursday, May 21 and remain closed through Friday. We will reopen on Saturday morning in our new wellness center and aerobics studio! Please join us for a workout or a class in our new space dedicated to your health and wellness!
We have added additional cycle classes and of course you are welcome to use the Express Y.

The summer months are just around the corner. Summer is meant to be filled with learning enrichment, new experiences, and making new friendships and memories that can last a lifetime. At the Y, we focus on programs that allow children to explore and get involved in activities that help them grow both mentally and physically.

Annual Learn to Swim Program
Learn to Swim at No Cost!
In partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers, we are proud to offer our annual Learn to Swim Program program to non-swimmers in our community! This week-long program will teach the basics of water safety, help you to become more comfortable in and around water, and provide you with the confidence and desire to continue becoming the best swimmer you can be! We have limited slots, so please register now!
Each class is 45 minutes
Choose one of the following times: 10:30am, 11:30am, 4:30pm, 5:30pm, 6:30pm

What to Bring
Each swimmer needs to bring the following each day: an appropriate swim suit (we recommend one-piece suits for females) and towel; goggles are highly recommended. Swim caps and goggles can be purchased at the Front Desk.
Please remember this is for non-swimmers only! We ask that you do not sign up if you have several scheduling conflicts during the week. It is very important that you commit to all 5 days of the program.
Please make sure you choose two time slot preferences on the registration form. Once a time slot has filled up, we will put you in your second choice. Any registration form received after the first choice has filled up will not be put into a class if a second choice is not listed. Wait lists will begin for each time slot once they fill up.

Dance and Tumbling
Students ages 2-8 will learn basic ballet and tumbling movements in a creative and fun way! Classes use music and movement to introduce dance and coordination while building confidence.
Boys and Girls Ages 2-8
Students ages 2-3 years old meet Tuesdays from 4:30-5:00pm
May 19-July 7
Students ages 4-8 years old meet Thursdays from 4:30-5:15pm
May 21-July 9
Classes will be held at the Wilkes Family YMCA in the Aerobics room.
Dance or gymnastics wear is recommended.

Kids on The Run
Eight weeks to a 5K!
Our 6th season of Kids on the Run will kick off June 15!
Children ages 5-15 will learn the FUNdamentals of running, in a team-building atmosphere. Not only will we train for a 5K with friends, we’ll also enjoy crafts and team building exercises! No experience is necessary!
Program starts June 15 and ends with a 5K on August 7. Friends and family are encouraged to run with their child at our 5K or come cheer them on! Finisher medals and T-shirts are given on race day.

Join us for our 8th Annual Little Bandits Youth Triathlon!
Triathlon aren’t just for grownups! Swim, bike and run in this youth triathlon for children under age 15. Get active and join in the fun!

Tri Level I (ages 8 & under): 50 yard swim, 1 mile bike, .5 mile run
Tri Level II (ages 9-12): 100 yard swim, 2 mile bike, .75 mile run
Tri Level III (ages 13-15): 150 yard swim, 4 mile bike, 1 mile run
