The Stokes Family YMCA is constantly growing and expanding the youth and adult sports program. The program hosts a variety of sports for all ages. All youth leagues focus on teaching youth teamwork, friendships, skills and respect for coaches, players and self. If you are interested in a particular sport please note the registration and season dates on our website. You can also call the front desk for further details.

Parents must sign a code of conduct prior to their child being allowed to play in sports.

Pickleball is a combination of tennis, badminton, ping pong and racquetball, and also one the fastest growing sports in America. It may be a silly name, but it’s a serious sport!

Good for all ages…come see what the excitement is all about!!

Keeping Kids Active: Homeschool P.E

The Stokes Family YMCA provides your child with a healthy fun-filled P.E. class for an hour and a half, once a week. We will include many spectacular activities from the National Youth Fitness test, basketball, soccer, group games, water safety, and most importantly, nutrition. We will also host Field Day at the end of the year. Give your children the opportunity to socialize and interact with many other children their age and meet new friends!!!

Program Dates

2014-2015 School Year – 8 week semester with class on Tuesdays from 2pm-3:30pm

First Semester: September 2-October 21
Second Semester: October 28-December 16
Third Semester: January 6-February 24
Fourth Semester: March 3-April 28 (no class on March 31)

$25 for Members per child; $60 max for 4 children; $75 max for 6 children
$30 for Potential Members per child; $75 max for 4 children; $90 max for 6 children
$5 for Members & Potential Members per child drop in fee for those not registered for the program

Tiny Tots Teeball

Now your 3-5 year olds can have the experience of teeball. Taught by YMCA staff in a clinic-style format, players are taught the basics of teeball such as catching, throwing, hitting, base running and defense.


3-5 years old coed


There is a total of 8 sessions: 6 practices and 2 scrimmages.

All sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 5:45-6:30pm, starting March 10. The first scrimmage will be April 28.

An awards party will be held on May 5, following the last scrimmage.

Glove (not provided by the YMCA) is required, cleats are not required. Participants may bring bats or helmets if they choose. Jersey t-shirt will be provided by the YMCA.

Parent Participation

Parents are encouraged and welcome to come out and help their player with drills. Parents may also volunteer to help lead drills in order to reduce waiting time for players. Any parent wanting to get involved may arrive a few minutes early and ask Patrick how they can help.

Youth Soccer

Our outdoor soccer league is designed for your child to learn the fundamentals of soccer. Coached by dedicated volunteers.

Players will have fun while developing an appreciation for sports and physical activity. They will practice skills while learning sportsmanship and teamwork.

The YMCA believes that character development is an essential element of sports. Caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith are valued on and off the field.  In YMCA sports, everyone plays and everyone plays fair. We put safety first and emphasize positive competition. YMCA sports are for all and are played for fun.

Two Days a Week

One Day a Week Kiddie Kickers

Practices and games are held on the same day. Taught by YMCA staff in a clinic style format, players are taught the basics of soccer such as dribbling, passing, shooting, defending and goalkeeping.

Age Groups: 3-4

Sessions are held on Fridays from 5:45-6:30pm at King Elementary School. There are a total of 8 sessions: 6 practices and 2 scrimmages. First practice: March 13. Scrimmages: May 1 and May 8. An awards party will be held on May 8 following the last scrimmage. Shin guards required, cleats not required. Jersey t-shirt provided by the YMCA.

Coaching Soccer

As is the case with all recreational leagues, this Y program is built on dedicated volunteer coaches. If you are a great role model, have a fun-loving attitude, enjoy working with kids, and have good communication skills, you are qualified to become a head coach! The Y provides coach training and practice plans, along with help from staff members when needed. Coaching couldn’t get any easier! If you are interested, contact the Y staff below and tell them you want to make an impact this season! Coach’s Meeting: Monday, March 2 at 6:30pm.


We will do our best to accommodate any requests, but we cannot guarantee that a request can be honored.  In order to maintain a fair and fun experience for all kids involved, the YMCA will do everything we can to ensure even teams heading into the season, therefore NO refunds will be given for participants who withdraw due to unmet requests.

Additional Info

Children will need athletic shorts, socks, cleats (recommended for ages 6 & up) and shin guards. The Y will provide jerseys for the teams. Jerseys will only be given to participants who have paid in full. Children may not participate in games without a jersey.

Adult Volleyball

Adult Volleyball offers a fun and exciting atmosphere with friends, co-workers, and family. It is also a great way to meet new people and make new friends. Players may sign up as an individual or together as a team.


14 and up
*Players ages 14-17 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to be allowed to participate.


Tuesday, March 10 will serve as Orientation and Pre-Season. Teams will be announced on this date and given time to introduce themselves to one another. We will briefly go over major rules. Two pre-season games will be played on this night and will not count in the regular season standings.

Season begins March 17 and runs through May 5.

Each team must have at least two females on the court at all times. The league will consist of a 6 v 6 format.

Individual Sign Ups

All players signing up individually will be placed together on teams. Individuals may request to be paired with others signing up individually and we will do our best to accommodate these pairings. No more than 8 individuals will be placed on a team.

Team Sign Ups

In order to sign up as team, you must have at least 6 players, two of which are female. Please list your team name along with your captain and teammates on your form. Every player on a team must fill out a form individually.
