At the Stokes Family YMCA, we offer a wide variety of Wellness programs from Personal Training to Group Exercises (including Group Cycling, Aerobics and Yoga & Pilates) and Specialty Programs.

 


Get Ripped

Get Ripped is a mix of different fitness exercise drills focusing on all areas of your body.

You can expect team training, calisthenics, body weight exercises, plyometrics, cardio, and more!

Mud Run Training Program

Do you like to play in the mud? This program takes 5k races to the next level. If you are looking for a new challenge and don’t mind getting dirty in the process, you should come and train with us for the Marine Core Mud Run. We will combine trail running, plyometrics, body weight exercises and team work to get you ready for this event. We hope you can join us!

What to Expect

Body Composition and Fitness Assessments

This is a great tool for those getting started with a workout program or even those wanting to confirm their level of fitness.  An assessment will help you track your progress.

By appointment only, sign up at the membership desk.

Program Information

Body Composition:  BMI, Weight, Measurements: $5

Fitness Assessment:  6 minute cardio test, flexibility test, balance test, strength test, BMI, measurements, weight:  $15

Boxing

Fundamentals of Boxing

A comprehensive, full body workout structured on the 3 minute round.  This structure accommodates a wide range of skill levels from beginners to competitive boxers.  Individual work coupled with personal instruction will allow you to progress from basic to advanced skills at your own pace.  We will focus on proper punching form, defense and conditioning.  Do you already have boxing skills?  Then you know it is one of the best workouts for endurance, strength and power.  Using ropes, mitts, bags and gloves, we will build skills and confidence!

Intermediate Boxing

This program takes the skills acquired from the Fundamentals of Boxing program and applies them to the ring setting.  This structure accommodates a wide range of skill levels from intermediate to competitive boxers.  Individual work coupled with personal instruction will allow you to progress from intermediate to advanced skills at your own pace.  We will focus on proper offensive and defensive drills using mitts, gloves, heavy bag, speed bag, and double-end bag. This class will sharpen your skills and build confidence!

Personal Training

Work with a certified YMCA Personal Trainer to achieve your desired fitness goals. Regardless of age or fitness level, one-on-one training can provide:

Teen Strength Training

Ages: 14-15 years

This class will teach teens, age  how to create a strength workout plan to target their needs and the proper techniques for using free weight equipment. After completion of this course, teens will be able to use free weights on their own in our fitness center.
