Lifeguard Course Prerequisites:
Minimum age 16. If under the age of 18, participant must have parental consent to take this course.
Pass the following swimming test:
A. Perform a long, shallow front dive, then swim 500 yards, including 100 yards each of: sidestroke, front crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke kick with one arm forward, and inverted breaststroke kick with arms on the stomach.
B. Tread water for at least two minutes with legs only
C. Surface dive headfirst and feet first in 8 to 10 feet of water and swim underwater for 15 feet
Must be able to accomplish these tasks:
You must pass this class in order to be certified as a YMCA Lifeguard.

Ages: 6-36 months
When: Saturday 11:00 am – 11:30 am, or Tuesday and Thursday 5:45 pm – 6:15pm
This program provides an early water experience for children from six months to three years. Children progress from water adjustment activities through basic water skills. Program instruction is directed toward helping parents work with their children. One adult must accompany each child
Ages: 3-5 years
When: Saturday 11:00 am – 11:45 am, or Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 pm – 6:15pm
This class introduces children to their first experience swimming without a parent. It is a great way for kids to learn how to be independent and have fun in the pool. A trained swim instructor teaches this class using the YMCA core values. Children learn at their own pace moving through our four skill levels. Preschool swim levels are Pike, Eel, Ray, and Starfish.
Ages: 6-15 years.
When: Saturday 11:00 am – 11:45 am, or Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 pm – 6:15pm
This class consists of six levels, which focus on stroke development, water safety, personal growth, and fun. A trained swim instructor works with children at their own pace using the YMCA core values, building self-esteem as well as self confidence through swimming. Youth swim levels are Polliwog, Guppy, Minnow, Fish, Flying Fish and Shark.
Progressive lessons are designed to take your child from beginner to advanced level swimming. Personal Safety, Personal Growth, Stroke Development, Water Sports & Games and Rescue skills are included at all levels.
Ages: Adults and children
Adults and children can register for individual lessons. Each lesson is 30 minutes. We have several instructors and time slots available.
