Journey To Freedom

Making Positive Life Changes

Is there anything in your life that you would like to change? Most of us have tried to make changes in our lives and have failed. Change is not impossible. Like most things in life that are worthwhile, change requires practice, training, and a solid foundation.

Journey to Freedom can provide the support you need to change your life for the better. This healing community of 8-10 people also experiencing change can help you work through changes both large and small. Journey to Freedom can help you experience lasting change and a better life.

It combines small group classes with health and well-being services to give you the best of both worlds, focusing on the whole you – spirit, mind and body while you work your specific needs and goals. Past participants have been able to address challenges related to their relationships and family dynamics, careers, weight/food/body image issues, grief/loss, anxiety and so much more.

Sessions are currently underway. Look for new sessions at Fulton Family YMCA, William G. White, Jr. Family YMCA, Statesville Family YMCA, and Stokes Family YMCA coming in September!

Nick Lawrence,

Healthy Kids Day

Join us for our annual Healthy Kids Day celebration. With summer just around the corner, Healthy Kids Day is a great time for families to begin thinking early about what their kids need to stay physically and intellectually active this summer. You can find great information about ways to help kids and families find ways to stay healthy all year long.

Saturday, April 26

Statesville Family YMCA

We’ll have face painting, crafts, clowns, balloon animals, a Kids Zumba Class, Bounce House/Slide, healthy Snacks and drinks, the Statesville Fire Dept will open up their truck with demos, the Statesville Police Department will be present to talk about safety, the Chick-Fil-a Cow will be here from 10-11am passing out coupons, and the Arby’s Oven Mitten, Wendy’s and Sweet Frog mascots will be passing out coupons as well.

We’ll also have a special guest, CJ Buford. CJ is now 9 years old but at the age of 6, like many little boys, he loved to ride his bike. After hearing a song on the radio and reading Colossians 3:23 from his Bible, he was inspired to ride his bike for a REASON. In the past two years CJ has ridden over 1000 miles to raise over $17,000 for charities to help sick children all over the world.

CJ will be riding his bike cross country in September from California to Florida to raise money for The National Children’s Cancer Society. His message and challenge to everyone is to do what you love and do it for a reason… to be intentional in what you do, thus the reason for his bike riding. He shares his adventures on his website:
