Taste Of Summer Preschool Program
Make your kid’s first summer experiences a positive one! Our pre-school program is for kids wishing to go to camp, but not yet ready for a full day. Our program feature weekly themes, arts and crafts projects, games, songs, free play, music and more! Snack will be provided each day. All kids must be potty trained. Participants should wear good play sneakers everyday to camp.

Mom’s Morning Out
Mom’s Morning Out is a program exclusively for Y members and allows parents to bring the kids to the Y and have a couple hours of kid free time. We offer 2 sessions daily, Monday through Friday. Start planning!!

Next Level Sports Performance Training
Next Level Sports Performance Training is a three-week sport-specific training designed to help you become stronger, faster and better prepared for game day. Whether you’re in middle school, a high school athlete preparing for college, or a recreational athlete just getting started, we have the trainers and state-of-the-art equipment to take you to the next level.

Teen Warriors
Teen Warriors is a three-week program emphasizing cardiovascular and strength training for both the athlete and non-athlete alike. This program for middle school and high school students offers an introduction to free weights, use of our training center and includes organized recreational activities that teach team building skills. At the end of camp, there will be an opportunity to participate in an offsite 5k.

CrossTrain for Kids
CrossTrain for Kids is a three-week program for children ages 6-11 that consists of high intensity, functional movements to improve coordination, increase both strength and cardiovascular endurance, and most importantly have fun! CrossTrain for Kids at the YMCA delivers a fitness program that is broad, general and inclusive, making it perfect for all kids.

Learning Through Play – Home School PE
Physical education (or P.E.) is an important part of your child’s education that builds overall wellness, a love for active play, and understanding of healthy choices. The Robinhood Road Family YMCA offers Home School P.E. classes taught by experienced professionals in a 6-week program for children participating in Home School ages 5-17 (grades K-12). P.E. gives children an opportunity to gather with children of the same age to play games, increase coordination, learn teamwork, build strength, increase heart health, and most importantly have fun! Each one-hour class will include a warm-up, stretch, sport/game, cool-down and stretch. Classes will be held in the state-of-the-art Training Center, Youth Center and outdoor fields weather permitting.

YouthFit Club
Kids just want to have FUN! YOUTHFIT Club is a 3-week program for children ages 6-12 that builds healthy, active habits to last a lifetime. Participants play games, meet new friends, and learn about healthy choices in a safe environment led by an experienced Instructor/Personal Trainer. Make healthy habits stick in a fun program that teaches good sportsmanship, teamwork and core character values.

Family Literacy
The YMCA Literacy Initiative offers El Nido (“The Nest”), which is a family literacy program that takes place on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hall-Woodward Elementary School. El Nido, which is based on the Mother Read curriculum, provides book-based activities for children while their parents participate in ESL classes. There is also Parent and Child Together time (PACT time) built into the curriculum, which provides an opportunity for parents and children to work together on book-based projects.

Adventure Guides
The YMCA has a long history of bringing parents and children together for life enriching experiences. This history has left a legacy of strengthened relationships and close bonds in many families and communities around the country. The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina has been a part of the Y-Indian Guide/Adventure Guides program for more than 30 years. Adventure Guides currently serves 20 tribes with over 400 participants in Forsyth, Stokes, Davie, Yadkin, and Wilkes Counties. Collectively, these tribes form the Adventure Guides Saura Nation.
The Adventure Guides Program aims to strengthen the bond between fathers and their children through activities that allow them to spend quality time together. Based on strong traditions of the Native American Culture including dignity, patience, endurance, spirituality, concern for the Earth and family values, these programs are tools that will help build memories that will last a lifetime.
