The Northwest North Carolina YMCA Association aspires to be an outstanding recreational youth sports organization by providing fun, memorable seasons to our athletes, coaches and parents. Each athlete should feel like an important part of the team, regardless of performance, and learn the skills, tactics, and strategies of the game to improve as a player.

New! Family-Friendly Registration Process

Attention! Important changes to the registration process for Spring 2017. This new registration process will allow you to choose the practice day and time that is most convenient for your family. The practice day and time that you choose at registration will determine your team. Early registration is strongly encouraged as each team has a set number of participants and once a practice day and time has reached its player capacity that team will be full. Scroll down for more information on all that we have to offer!

PlayerSpace

This is an online sports platform that is utilized for simplifying communication among coaches, players and YMCA sports staff. PlayerSpace is where you will find your roster, practice and game schedules, as well as contact information for those on your team.
If you do not have a PlayerSpace account, you will receive an email asking you to set one up once the teams have been assigned. If you have an existing account, please log in after the date that teams have been assigned. PlayerSpace will be used for soccer, flag football, t-ball/baseball and volleyball.


Be a Coach!

As is the case with all recreational leagues, the Y program is built on dedicated volunteer coaches. If you are a great role model, have a fun-loving attitude, enjoy working with kids, and have good communication skills, you are qualified to become a head coach! The Y provides coach training and practice plans, along with help from staff members when needed. Coaching couldn’t get any easier! If you are interested, contact the Y staff listed below and tell them you want to make an impact this season!

Coaches’ Meetings

Soccer: Tuesday, March 14 at 6:30pm
Flag Football: Monday, March 13 at 6:30pm
T-Ball/Baseball: Thursday, March 16 at 6:30pm
Volleyball: Wednesday, March 15 at 6:30pm
All Coaches’ Meetings will take place in the Before/After School Room.


Adults

Adult Volleyball

This is a co-ed sport and the score is kept. There are no practices, only games. Games are held each Monday at 7pm SHARP. Each team is responsible for refereeing the others’ games. Season will end with a tournament on May 22. This is a “bring-your-own-team” sport. Team fee: $200. Scroll down to register!

If you are not currently affiliated with a Y team and would like to be placed onto a team, please come to a Monday evening open gym. Open gym runs February 27, March 13 & 20 on Court 4. Please connect with Scot Freeman while there and he can assist you in finding a team.


Pick Up Basketball

Adult Pick-Up Basketball is all about competition, exercise, relationship building, staying fit, and developing a healthy lifestyle while enjoying a great time! All skill levels are welcome.

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00am
Thursdays at 5:30pm
Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:30am

Free for members!

No need to sign up in advance, just come ready to play and meet new people that enjoy basketball as much as you do!


Pickleball

Come out and join a game that combines tennis, racquetball, ping pong and squash. Pickleball is a great way to combine fun and fitness.

Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 9:00am-12:00pm
Fridays: 7:00-9:00pm
Sundays: 2:00-4:00pm

Racquetball

We have two racquetball courts which can be reserved 24 hours in advance by calling 336.245.5839. You don’t need to sign up in advance if a court is available, and Members can check out equipment from the check-in desk.
