Share Your Story and Get a Free T-shirt!
In celebration of the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina’s 125th Anniversary, we want to hear how the Y has impacted you or your family’s life. Share why you come to, work for, volunteer with, or give to the Y.
Submit your story online at ymcanwnc.org/myystory or at the front desk.
Here are the rules:
We want to hear any experience, fond memory, or passion for the Y that keeps you coming back! The first 1,000 individuals to submit stories will receive t-shirts, or until supplies last. Stories must be authentic and include a bit of your own personal history. Responses less than at least 5 sentences long will not qualify.
Youth sports at the Y are about more than whether you win or lose. Kids learn how to be a part of a team, make new friends, and build confidence on the field. Whether you’re just starting out learning the basics or are ready to take your sports skills to the next level, there is something for you at the Y. Spring soccer will focus on core skills of dribbling, shooting, and more, as well as friendly competition.

The summer months are just around the corner. Summer is meant to be filled with learning enrichment, new experiences, and making new friendships and memories that can last a lifetime. At the Y, we focus on programs that allow children to explore and get involved in activities that help them grow both mentally and physically.
Options available for all ages and many schedules and interests. Click here for more information, session dates and times, or to register.
Looking for a traditional resident camp experience? We have all that and more at the 400-acre Memory Maker YMCA Camp Hanes.
Leprechaun Leap 5K/10K
The date of this St. Patrick’s Day run may just be your lucky charm! We’re partnering with MRT (McLelland’s Racing Team) for a fun, family community run. Part of the proceeds will support the Y’s Annual Giving Campaign. The Y believes everyone in our community deserves the right to programs that strengthen our community and never turns anyone away because of the inability to pay.
The Leprechaun Leap 5k/10k is a dual start with a scenic course that separates at Woods Drive, where the 5k runners continue on to the YMCA and the 10k runners continue on their route. Race held at the Statesville Family YMCA. Cash prizes awarded to Overall Men’s and Women’s, Awards to Master Men and Females and Top 3 in Age Groups Male and Female.
