Youth Fit Class
This class is designed for youth – elementary age to middle school. This class will engage your child in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Combination or P.E. style workouts, as well as weight-bearing workouts, and cardio exercises will keep your child moving. Best of all, it’s free!

Pay the Day Membership Special
Branches of the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina are offering a membership joining special to jumpstart healthy New Year’s resolutions. New members can join the Y for only $1 December 26 through January 1. After the 1st, members pay the joining fee based on the calendar date. For example, the joining fee on January 2 is $2 and increases each day to $31 on January 31, the last day of the special offer.

Get On Your Weigh
Do you need extra motivation and instruction to lose weight? Get On Your Weigh is an 8-week weight management program that helps you create a healthy lifestyle habit!
First place winner receives a 3-month Adult Membership. Must have permission from a physician to participate.
The program includes:
- Certified Personal Trainer
- Workouts twice a week
- Weigh-In sessions including measurements and BMI calculations
- Weekly Nutrition Sessions
- Get On Your Weigh T-shirt
- LOTS of team and coach support

Road Runners Youth Running Group
Develop a life-long love for running in this 6-week program for children ages 5 and up. Meet new friends, learn to run in a group, and build confidence as you set a goal of running a 5K and work each week towards race day. Support physical activity with healthy habits and nutrition information in this fostering environment with caring coaches and friendly teammates. Program finishes with the Robins Run Race on March 28, 2015.
Who: Boys and girls ages 5 and up who are interested in running
When: Practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, February 17 through March 26
Where: Alexander County Family YMCA walking track on Tuesdays and Matheson Park on Thursdays
Cost: $20 per Y member, $25 per potential member
Instructors: Marissa Cooper and Gary Walker. Marissa and Gary are both Boston Marathon qualifiers. Marissa has ten plus years of running experience. Gary has completed 41 marathons.

Father-Daughter Valentine’s Dance
One evening. Lifelong memories.
Carve out quality one-on-one time with your little girl in this community tradition at the Alexander County YMCA Father/Daughter Dance. Daughters of all ages come with dads, grandfathers, uncles, and other adult male role models to this special event with dancing and refreshments. Dress to impress in your Sunday best!
Who: Young ladies and ladies “young at heart.” For all ages!

Group Exercise Classes
Classes are open to all exercise levels, with alternative movements offered for different skill levels to maximize your personal workout. Our instructors are happy to give additional guidance to beginners. Just introduce yourself before class! Minimum age is 12 years (with a parent).
