Questions about Transformation Nation Triad? More information is available below:

How can I register for Transformation Nation Triad?
Registration begins Saturday, January 28, when the branch normally opens and continues until Friday, February 3, on a first come, first serve basis. You must register in person at the branch where you wish to participate and are allowed to sign up one person from your immediate family.

What is the cost to participate in the program?
This is a FREE program that includes the once weekly weigh in, group workout and motivation from a trainer.

Which branch should I go to on Saturday, January 28, to register?
Go to the branch where you would like to participate. View locations here.

How old do I need to be to participate in Transformation Nation Triad?
You must be 18 or older to participate.

Is childcare provided for program participants?
Transformation Nation Triad participants can utilize YMCA Child Watch during the branch’s normal childcare hours. If you select a session during normal Child Watch hours you are welcome to use those services, we just ask you mention that when you register.

Can participants sign up for more than one session?
Participants can only sign up for one weekly session. You should plan to attend that session each week. We welcome people to sign up for both Get on Your Weigh, an additional YMCA weight loss program that offers more one-on-one guidance and smaller group sizes, and Transformation Nation Triad if they wish to.

Are participants required to attend every session?
Yes. Please register for a session that works with your schedule so that you will be able to attend all the classes. If you need to miss more than two sessions, you may jeopardize your spot in the program. Talk to your instructor if you ever need to reschedule.

What is the workout schedule?
You are required to attend the weekly work out at the branch and your trainer will provide you with a schedule for the other days that can be completed at the YMCA or at home.

When do participants weigh in?
The group work out sessions include weekly weigh ins. Work outs will begin at the scheduled time, but trainers will be on site for 30 minutes prior to conduct the weigh ins. We recommend arriving 15-20 minutes early to each work out so there is time for all participants to weigh in and begin promptly at the scheduled work out time. All weigh-ins will be conducted in a respectful, private environment.

Are there classes for people with injuries or limited mobility?
The Kernersville Family YMCA will hold a special session for people with injuries and limited mobility.  All group sessions will take place in the pool on Saturdays at 8:30 a.m.  This class is only for those people with special needs.

If participants are not members, how will they come to the Y?
Participants will be given a 16 visit card (would be used only for group sessions), with an additional 3 visits for a total of 19. Potential members must keep track of their visit card and use for each weekly session at the branch where they are participating. You may visit any YMCA of Northwest North Carolina with the other three visits during the 16-week program.

Is there a special joining offer for participants who are potential members?
There is no joining fee for Transformation Nation Triad participants.

Is there a weight loss limit or doctors note required to participate?
There is no weight limit or required doctor’s note to participate. We encourage people to participate who have 10, 20, 30 pounds or more weight to lose. As always, we recommend participants check with their physician before beginning a new exercise program.

Is there a grand prize for the person or group who loses the most weight?
The Y will offer the group (team of five from one session) that loses the most combined weight a prize at the end of the program. WXII TV is also planning to award the single highest loser a grand prize to be announced.

Will there be nutritional information?
We’re partnering with Forsyth Medical Center for nutritional information and additional support. Forsyth Medical Center will also offer a reduced rate to the Fit Family 5K for all participants.

Will we get to be on WXII TV?
WXII TV will broadcast live at least once from each YMCA. Your trainer will let you know the date and time to attend to watch the broadcast and how to participate if you’re interested.
