YMCA of Iredell County and YMCA of NWNC Enter Management Agreement

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – January 26, 2011 – The YMCA of Iredell County (Statesville, Troutman and Taylorsville) has entered a management agreement with the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina. The six-month management agreement allows for supportive capacity building throughout the YMCA of Iredell County’s service area. “Our staff and volunteers are looking forward to the opportunity to grow from the experience and leadership the YMCA of NWNC has to offer,” states Angela Blakely, Chief Operating Officer of the YMCA of Iredell County.

Founded in 1888, the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is one of the oldest YMCA’s in North Carolina. Based in Winston-Salem, the Association impacts the lives of more than 100,000 men, women and children annually throughout the Piedmont region.

During the six-month agreement, YMCA of Northwest North Carolina will provide operational, development and marketing support to improve operational efficiencies and increase community awareness in Iredell and Alexander counties. “We are impressed with the dedication of the Iredell volunteers and staff and we look forward to building on that momentum,” states Curt Hazelbaker, President and CEO of the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina. “I am confident that our Associations can build upon each other’s strengths.
